Happy Skin Color Play Make Up Review

11:09 PM

Another day. Another budol from one shopping app. And this time I took my shopping impulses in an app I rarely even open. But when a popular make up brand does a BOGO sale, I couldn't fight the urge to hop in and try the products out.

Happy Skin is a make up brand popularly endorsed by the country's teen queen (or do we still call her that ba? Anyway..), Kathryn Bernardo. I couldn't find a legitimate source but I've heard she actually owns the brand as well. I'm not entirely sure and I'm too lazy to do a quick Google search.

So I saw the ad on Facebook that they are doing a Buy One Take One promo on their Color Play line on February 2-4 on the Lazada app, and instantly I got all psyched up since I haven't tried any of their products but I've heard and seen good reviews about it. Now, I want to try them out for myself and check if there are some sort of truths to these reviews. I know I'm sounding like a skeptic at this point, but I have put a lot on faith on this product aaaaaaaaanndd, boy, they do not disappoint.

Packaging
Alright, let's start with how their packaging is super chic and how it plays with the pastel tones of pink. If you know me, you'd know that my favorite color is pink. Next is I notice how the products container is quite similar with Glossier's cloud paint. This is also probably why people consider it to be some sort of a dupe for the cloud paint. But does it live up to the expectation formula-wise? Continue on reading...

Formula/Application
It is very pigmented. I usually just get a teeny tiny amount to put on each cheek since I do not like my face to be punchy red or sunburnt orange. It does kind of easily wear out, probably around the 6th to the 7th hour of it being on your face, so you may have to reapply it again if you still want that same look all throughout the day.
I'm hairy af 😅
Price
The original price is at 698 php each, if I remember it correctly.
Can I say it's worth the price? Definitely! I believe the product would last for about 1-2 months for someone who would use it on the regular.
But do look out for sales often. Personally, I would try products like this out and buy them myself when it's on sale because just in case, I wouldn't like it, I wouldn't have the guilt of the price tag hanging on me for long. But that's just me.

The Look
Not entirely sure if it's the lighting and editing but I do have the product on in that photo. I like it kind of subtle. Like I said, I don't want it to look really punchy road on me. Just enough tint to live up my everyday work from home look.

Oh, and notice the bangs? I did that to myself in an effort to give myself curtain bangs without needing the hairdressers. A+ for effort, right?

Anyway, Keep Posted.
