Updated Skin Care Routine: Friday Skin

5:39 PM

Alright, I have to come clean here. I do have some consistency problems when it comes to keeping my blog up and running. Not that I owe anyone any explanation, but I do feel like I have to address it somehow. Lately, I have not been around posting content and whatnots whether it be in my podcast or here (blog) because I've been trying to pace things according to how my mind and body is working. I've been doing some things with regards to my mental health. Not clinical though, just more on activities that will help me be more calm and less anxious.

Okay, enough with the life update and let's get right to business here.

About a month ago I was experiencing pimple breakouts, and as most of you might have experienced too, it does nothing good to your confidence. Also, the pimple breakouts started during period season, so I guess that was pretty normal. But nonetheless, I still decided to do something about and switch up my nightly skin care routine. While I was browsing through my social media (of course!), I found an ad and Friday Skin was having like a pay day sale of some sort. So I thought, alright, this product has quite a number of good reviews might as well try them myself.

I found a Cebu-based Shopee store and ordered from their catalog. And just in case, you'll get, somehow, interested and curious and would also want to try it yourself. The shop name is called glowgettercebu. Since the shop is Cebu-based, it got delivered pretty quickly, and by quick, I mean, it got delivered just two days after placing the order.

Started using it on May 1, 2021, and let me tell you this. My skin has never felt and looked this good.

A quick background on my skin type, for transparency purposes - I have a pretty oily face. Living in a tropical country, sweat has been a staple activity for my body. It's a good thing that rainy days have arrived, but even then I'd still break a few sweats if I'm not in an airconditioned room. So having all that oil in my face, it is inevitable that I could be pimple prone, especially if I am not careful with what I put on my face. With this information in mind, I tossed out my moisturizers as well.

Now, let's talk about the three products on my Friday Skin Nighttime Routine:

Friday Skin LuMi Foaming Wash - retails at 190php

During the day, I usually put on light make up (cc cream, eyebrow liner, eyeliner, mascara and lip tints), and even if it's just light make up, you still have to wash off those makeup products to avoid clogged pores that would result to pimple breakouts. I wash them off by using Celeteque Hydration Facial Wash, and right after I've cleansed my face, I do a double cleanse by using the Friday Skin LuMi Foaming Wash. It has this cooling effect once you wash your face with it. The product needs to be thoroughly shaken first before using too.

Friday Skin LuMi Toner  - retails at 220php

After washing all that microscopic make up gunk off my face, I use Nivea Micellar Water (Pink Variant) to prep my skin before applying the Friday Skin LuMi Toner. My reason for using micellar water first is because I still kind of feel like you have to thoroughly wipe off any excess make up, even if you no longer feel like there's still any. For me, it's merely to make sure you do not mix any other make up chemicals with the toner. However, let me put on a little disclaimer again. There is no dermatological research behind my theory. I am simply sharing my own experience and thoughts based on how my skin has been reacting to my regimen.

Vitamin C Serum by Friday Skin - retails at 180php

Right after applying the Friday Skin LuMi Toner, I use the Vitamin C Serum by Friday Skin to complete my nighttime routine. Friday Skin has other serum variants aside from the Vitamin C one, namely:
  • Whitening Serum
  • Snail Extract Serum
  • Hyaluronic Serum
  • Tomato Serum
  • Apple Stem Serum
Each variant has their own benefits. I personally used the Vitamin C Serum because I kind of assume it would do better for my skin, and it would help reduce the pimple marks. Luckily, I was right to listen to my gut 😂

Overall Verdict:
Friday Skin will now be my skin care staple, and will probably be using it for a long while. The whole skin care set would cost you a total of 590php, and I personally think that's a pretty cheap way to achieve glowing good skin. The products would also last you for at least two months. So that's like 295php per month!!

Skin Reveal:
Before - Day 0 of using Friday Skin
After - Day 27 of using Friday Skin

The photos are color enhanced but I swear I never did any retouches or cloning or any enhances that would remove any skin pigmentation on either of the photos. I should also really have a much better "after" photo. Will post an even updated version of my skin now. Especially now that I'm on my 36th day of using them.

Disclaimer: I am in no way being sponsored/reached out by Friday Skin to be writing this post. I am genuinely just sharing my experience with using their products, and so far, I have no complaints.

Keep Posted.
