My Ultimate Skin Care Routine

7:30 PM

To keep my sanity at bay while I try to suppress the bad combo of boredom and laziness that is crippling my productivity, I am here at my blog again - for the second time this month. Woah, who is the productivity-obsessed bitch and why is she taking over my sloth body? Well, whoever she is (and it's probably just Trixie, my badass alter ego) I'm glad she's out. Energizing my brain with some word play is one of my favorite pastimes anyway.

For this week's blog, I'd like to share with you my current skin care must-haves. Now, before anything else, let me just say this right off the bat - I don't claim to be some skin care expert nor am I sure that these products will work on you. I did, however, made some research for you, guys, so that this will be a much more informative blog post. The products I will be presenting are the ones that I'm currently using and is working well with my skin. So do take whatever review I make with a grain of salt :)

Let's begin my skin care routine now...

I'll be stating the products in the order of which ones I use first in my routine.

1. Celeteque Hydration Facial Wash - My morning routine still includes my daily make up routine, so at the end of an exhausting day whether it be a work day or a weekend, I always cleanse my face with facial wash. This Celeteque Hydration Facial Wash is good for skin types that is in between dry and oily. It keeps my skin moisturized whilst controlling the oil secretion in my face. I do notice that I still get a bit oily especially in the nose and forehead area but I'm still trying to check out a product that would somehow counter that. This has already been one of my holy grails when it comes to skin care since my skin has felt so smooth and plumped ever since I used this.

2. Nivea Micellair Oil Control Micellar Water - After I've washed my face, I double cleanse it with micellar water. Micellar water is highly effective in removing dirt, makeup and oil to help clear out pores while also, toning the skin. One quick Google search would also tell you that micellar water can be bad for congested skin, since it leaves a surface residue on the skin that's like a film which can block the pores and disrupt oil production. Basically, you really need to get to know you're skin first before doing all these skin care rituals.

Nivea has these three kinds of micelar water - the oil control one, the extra white and the acne clear. I used to buy the acne clear one but since I've never had acne problems I decided to switch to the oil control one since it better suits my skin needs.

3. Celeteque Hydration Facial Moisturizer
Three reasons that'll help convince you to moisturize your skin:
  • It reduces the chances of skin problems
  • It can reduce the appearance of other blemishes
  • It fights wrinkles which helps the skin stay young.
Just like the facial wash, it also keeps my face hydrated and moisturized before putting on sunscreen and other facial creams I use to keep my skin looking "fresh".

4. QUICKFX Face & Body Sun Screen - I know we're all just in our houses and we're barely getting enough sunlight. However, many skin care experts still advise to use sunscreen since UV rays from the sun can still penetrate even if we're just standing on shaded areas.

5. QUICKFX Pimple Eraser - Whenever I feel like a pimple is about to sprout, I immediately put on some of this directly on the affected area. Some days it does work like magic and would somehow downsize the pimple the next day, but sometimes it just doesn't. I just assume the pimple is too stubborn to go away. One of the chemicals on this cream is salycilic acid which helps reduce the pimple. I use it also on my dark spots but it seem like a slow progress. I've been planning to check other alternatives.

6. QUICKFX EYE LIFT CREAM - I use this eye lift cream under my eyes to reduce the presence of puffiness and dark circles. It kind of works but I would probably still buy some eye patch to further reduce the presence of dark circles.

7. QUICKFX NO SHINE MATIFIER - On the extremely rare occasion that I feel like dolling myself up and putting on some slightly heavier make up, I use this No Shine Matifier before putting on some cc cream. It does reduce oiliness and helps stick my make up longer during the day.

8. Petroleum Jelly - And finally, before hitting the sack and giving myself that well-deserved good night's rest, I moisturize my lips with some petroleum jelly. Any brand will do though, I just bought this cheaper one on Watsons since it was the only thing available at the time of purchase. I've actually seen quite a bigger difference on how my lips feel like ever since I started putting on petroleum jelly every night. It doesn't crack that much anymore and liptints stick better on my lips now too.

Before I end this post, let me just put a listed disclaimer

Disclaimers:
  1. I am not a skin care expert.
  2. This is what currently works on my skin.
  3. What works for me may not work for you.
  4. THIS IS NOT A SPONSORED POST - I may be using mostly Quickfx products but I assure you I have not been paid by them to do this. I'm not some bigshot blogger.. yet. JK
I hope this somehow gives you background on what skin care products you would want to start maintaining. But before you do, always do some skin test first. You may have some allergic reaction to the chemicals on these products.

Also, Quickfx have the pouch versions of their products so you might want to just buy those ones first before committing to the whole tube to avoid wasting costs. Celeteque has a travel bundle for their Hydration line. It includes the moisturizer, the facial wash and the toner. You might wanna buy these ones first before getting the big ones, just to try it.
